Hi, I am Dwarampudi Sreenivasa Reddy (48), working as Superintendent of Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax in Vizianagaram. I studied in S.V.G. High School, Marteru during 1977-82. I am proud of my school and village, though I belong to Velagaleru which is a adjacent village and also part of Marteru Grama Panchaka, I am very much attached to Marteru. Because of the foundation I got in this school from the excellent teachers like S/Shri/Smt Prahlada Reddy garu, Subramanyam Master, Chandra Sekhar Reddy Master, Sai Masterji (Hindi), Bhaskar Reddy Master, Vanasundaram garu, Prakash Rao garu, Vidhwan garu, RVS garu, Achari garu, Prabhavathi Teacher, BSN garu, Ramachandra Rao garu and other teachers, I got 8 Government/PSU jobs. I am proud of my teachers and my sincere thanks and salutations to them. The agriculture research station (ARS),Lord Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Varahalashminarasimha Swamy Temple and newly constructed Swami Ayyappa Temple are worth to visit. I am proud of my school which has produced many international Basket Ball Players like Mr Subban Reddy, Mr Umamaheshwara Reddy who are some of our time and Athlete like Ms.Satti Geetha/Rani and others at later stage. Kudos to late Shri Prahlada Reddy garu who was the mentor for these people and many others who got jobs based on their sports background. He taught us sincerity and discipline when he was NCC teacher to us. Marteru is centre for 5 villages we call it as Panch Gramas or Gram Panchaka and junction for four routes leading to Narsapuram, Achanta, Nidadavolu/Ravulapalem/Tanuku, and Tadepalligudem/Bhimavaram. Though I worked in different places like New Delhi, Goa, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad and now working in Vizianagaram, I cannot forget Maruteru as I love it very much. We all should be thankful to Sir Arthur Cotton who gave life to the people of this area and late Shri Dwarampudi Basivi Reddy garu who built our High School which gave great future to the students who utilised the faculty/facilities and studied well. Finally, do not forget to eat "Chicken Pakodi" whenever you visit our beloved place (If you are a non vegetarian). All the best my friends and keep in touch with me for more information.
